Adult Social Care in Westminster

The Care Quality Commission has published its findings of the service inspection of adult social care for Westminster City Council. The focus of the CQC inspection was services for Safeguarding adults (rated as performing "well") and Increased choice and control for older people (rated as "excellent").

The LINk contrbutes to the provision of social care through its regular place on Council Scrutiny Committees, raising matters of significance to it. It also helped publicise the inspection among people who used services.

The report noted that some third sector partners considered the council could do more to recognise the costs they bore and practically support valued small organisations. The council was starting a corporate ‘relationship review’ of work with third sector organisations and considering how it might support the sector. The CQC said this was "important work, which needed to be progressed promptly".
