Westminster LINk is holding three free special training sessions (open to LINk members and non-members) to provide more information health care, social care and their regualtion. ‘Understanding Social Care’
Time: 7th October, 5.30-6.30pm
Venue: VAW, 37 Chapel St, NW1 5DP
With: Cath Atlee, Assistant Director Joint Commissioning , Social Care & Health- Westminster City Council
During this session, a representative from Westminster City Council will explain how social care services are commissioned and organised in our area, and how you, as a service user, fit into this picture. There will be time for questions on a variety of areas, including the ongoing “transformation” of services.
‘How are Health and Social Care regulated?’
Time: 13th October, 5.30-6.30pm
Venue: VAW, 37 Chapel St, NW1 5DP
With: Steve Holmes- Care Quality Commission
This session will take place with Steve Holmes, a representative from the Care Quality Commission, (the newly-created health and social care regulator for England). The CQC has legal powers to monitor the provision of health and social care services. He will explain how you can work with the Commission to make your voice heard.
‘Understanding Health Care’
Time: 20th October, 5.30-6.30pm
With: Emily Savin, Head of Involving People- Westminster Primary Care Trust
This session will take place with a representative from NHS Westminster (the body responsible for funding all health services across Westminster). She will explain how health care services are commissioned in our area, how trusts, PCTs and other bodies fit together and, most importantly, how you can make your voice heard as a service user.
